Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Ground beef (1 pound (80/20 blend for optimal juiciness))
  • Sriracha sauce (3 tablespoons)
  • Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
  • Salt (1 teaspoon)
  • Black pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Mayonnaise (1/4 cup)
  • Lettuce (4 leaves, washed and dried)
  • Tomato (1 large, sliced)
  • Onion (1/2 medium, sliced into rings)
  • Hamburger buns (4, toasted)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, Sriracha sauce, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing during cooking.
  3. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium heat. If grilling, ensure the grates are well-oiled to prevent sticking.
  4. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (medium-rare is around 130°F, medium is 140°F).
  5. While the patties are cooking, mix the mayonnaise with an extra tablespoon of Sriracha for a spicy spread.
  6. Once the patties are done, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  7. Spread the Sriracha mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
  8. Place a patty on each bun and top with lettuce, tomato slices, and onion rings.
  9. Cover with the top half of the bun and serve the burgers hot with your favorite side dishes.
