Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped green onions, grated ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Take a wonton wrapper and place a small spoonful (about 1 teaspoon) of the pork mixture in the center of the wrapper. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water using your finger or a brush.
- Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle, ensuring the filling is sealed inside. Press the edges firmly to seal and prevent any filling from escaping. For a decorative touch, you can pleat the edges if desired.
- In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
- Carefully add the wontons to the boiling broth and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the wontons float to the surface, indicating they are cooked through.
- Add the chopped bok choy to the pot and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the bok choy is wilted and tender.
- If you prefer a bit of heat, drizzle in some sriracha sauce to taste.
- Serve the wonton soup hot, garnished with fresh cilantro for a burst of color and flavor.
Tips
- For a vegetarian version, substitute the ground pork with finely chopped mushrooms or tofu.
- Feel free to add additional vegetables like carrots or snow peas for extra nutrition and flavor.
- Make sure to keep the wonton wrappers covered with a damp cloth while you are assembling them to prevent them from drying out.
