Serves 4

Ingredients

Ground pork
1 pound
Wonton wrappers
24 wrappers
Green onions
3, finely chopped
Ginger
1 tablespoon, grated
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
Sesame oil
1 tablespoon
Chicken broth
6 cups
Bok choy
2 cups, chopped
Cilantro
1/4 cup, for garnish
Sriracha sauce
to taste, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped green onions, grated ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
  2. Take a wonton wrapper and place a small spoonful (about 1 teaspoon) of the pork mixture in the center of the wrapper. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water using your finger or a brush.
  3. Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle, ensuring the filling is sealed inside. Press the edges firmly to seal and prevent any filling from escaping. For a decorative touch, you can pleat the edges if desired.
  4. In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
  5. Carefully add the wontons to the boiling broth and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the wontons float to the surface, indicating they are cooked through.
  6. Add the chopped bok choy to the pot and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the bok choy is wilted and tender.
  7. If you prefer a bit of heat, drizzle in some sriracha sauce to taste.
  8. Serve the wonton soup hot, garnished with fresh cilantro for a burst of color and flavor.

Tips

  • 💡 For a vegetarian version, substitute the ground pork with finely chopped mushrooms or tofu.
  • 💡 Feel free to add additional vegetables like carrots or snow peas for extra nutrition and flavor.
  • 💡 Make sure to keep the wonton wrappers covered with a damp cloth while you are assembling them to prevent them from drying out.
