Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, and beaten egg. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well incorporated.
- Take a wonton wrapper and place a teaspoon of the pork mixture in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it over to create a triangle shape, and seal the edges tightly to prevent any filling from escaping. Repeat with remaining wrappers.
- In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
- Carefully add the prepared wontons to the boiling broth. Allow them to cook for about 5 minutes or until they float to the surface, indicating they are done.
- Add the chopped bok choy and sliced shiitake mushrooms to the pot. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still vibrant in color.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or soy sauce if desired. Serve the soup hot, garnished with additional chopped green onions for an extra pop of flavor.
Tips
- For a spicier kick, add a drizzle of chili oil to each bowl before serving.
- Feel free to experiment with different fillings for the wontons, such as shrimp or chicken, to suit your taste preferences.
- If you want a richer broth, simmer the chicken broth with ginger and garlic before adding the wontons.
